Plastics !

Plastics are used in almost every human society. Because of our widespread use of plastics, it has become a significant source of pollution on Earth.
Describe 6 ways humans use plastics.

1. Plastic wrap: it helps keep meat fresh while protecting it from the poking and prodding fingers of your fellow shoppers.
2. Plastic bottles: we can actually lift an economy-size bottle of juice.
3. Plastics are used in portable phones.
4. Plastic car fenders and body panels resist dings
5. Plastic bags: they require less energy to produce than paper bags and are light to carry.
6. Vinyl siding and windows: they help cut energy consumption.
Give 6 reasons why plastics are so useful to humans.
1. Plastic can be recycled and you will find that when you start recycling you at least save money on trash bags, bottles and cups;
2. Plastic is light and anyone can lift a plastic bag or bottle;
3. We can recycle plastic;
4. If we destroy a plastic item, it’s usually replaceable at a reasonable price;
5. Plastic is cheap to buy and easy to obtain just about anywhere;
6. We can reuse many plastic items such as cups, bags, containers and many other items.
Give 4 consequences of plastic pollution to the environment or wildlife.
1. “Plastic makes up much of the streetside litter found in cities and throughout the countryside, and it’s rapidly filling up our landfills as well;
2. Making new plastic requires significant amounts of fossil fuels;
3. Some studies show that only 10% of plastic bottles created are recycled, leaving that extra 90% to take up space in landfills and killing ocean life;
4. Plastic bottles take up space in landfills. Plastic bottles make up approximately 11% of the contents of landfills;

CONCLUSION

Consider the amount of sheer waste a single meal or even serving produces (“Kraft Singles is second only to Individually Wrapped Breaths of Air ™ in the Most Wasteful Products Award”). Try to reuse glass or Tupperware containers for leftovers instead of plastic wrap. We should store water in the high grade blue plastic bottles only. Ask for tap water with lemon in restaurants.
